What to expect on my 1st appointment?
Consultation and Physical Assessment
The first appointment will include a consultation identifying the history of the current issues as well as a physical assessment which involves movement analysis, neurological and special testing in order to establish a diagnosis. Our role here is to identify which structures are affected and how we can work towards improving symptoms and function avoiding long-term complications. We will plan individual treatment plan, which will be discussed with you . Our treatment plans incorporate all of our services in order to achieve optimal recovery.
Physiotherapy –Follow Up
Follow up sessions will involve a brief assessment in order to identify areas for improvement. These sessions focus on treatment, aiming to reach the clientโs goal and maintain long-term improvement. Continued physiotherapy and rehabilitation will encourage progression and development of the clientโs plan. This is an integral part of optimal recovery.
At Ellie Physiotherapy we aim to improve overall function, as well as reducing pain, enhancing range of movement, flexibility and strength. We combine treatment modalities such as Manual Therapy(mobilisation, spinal manipulation or soft tissue techniques(for example massage)), Electrotherapy, Taping and Exercise Rehabilitation to achieve the best outcomes.
If problem is severe, our Physiotherapist may refer you for an MRI scan to identify the cause of your problem and will be able to advice you whether a referral to a Specialist is required.
