Whatโ€™s the difference between an initial assessment and a followโ€‘up?

Your first session focuses on understanding your history, assessing your movement, and forming a diagnosis and plan. Followโ€‘ups are where we deliver handsโ€‘on treatment, progress exercises, and review your goals.

Will I get exercises after my first session?

Yes. Iโ€™ll give you a personalised exercise plan with clear cues and targets to work on between appointments.

Do I need an Xโ€‘ray or MRI before starting physio?

Usually not. Most conditions can be diagnosed clinically. If imaging would genuinely change your treatment plan, Iโ€™ll guide you through the next steps.

Can physio still help if Iโ€™ve had pain for years?

Yes. Persistent pain responds well to a combination of movement, strength work, education and lifestyle strategies. Iโ€™ll tailor everything to your pace.

How much soreness is normal after treatment or exercise?

A little shortโ€‘lived soreness (24โ€“48 hours) can be common. Sharp or escalating pain means we should adjust your plan โ€” just let me know.

How often will I need to come?

It depends on your condition and goals. Many people start weekly for a few weeks, then taper as they become more confident and independent.

Do I offer workplace and ergonomic advice?

Yes. I can give you short, practical ergonomic advice to help reduce strain at work or at home. If you ever need a more detailed assessment, I can guide you on the best next steps.
